This is to inform all the aspirants that the management of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) where both UTME and DIRECT ENTRY candidates can Accept or Reject their admission offer for the 2021/2022 academic session.

What is JAMB CAPS?

This JAMB CAPS simply means Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), and it is a platform created in other to ensure the smooth control and credibility of admission Processing.

Here is a platform where admission seekers frequently visit to check if they have been offered admission and also have the power to accept the admission offer or reject it. Once accepted, you will no longer be available for other school’s admission consideration. On the other hand, if you reject the admission offer, you will become available for other school’s who still have free admission slots.

New JAMB Policy

“All admission would be done online through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). All candidates seeking admission into any University, Polytechnic, Collage of Education, or any tertiary institution in Nigeria for the 2020/2021 academic session are strictly advised to visit the JAMB CAPS PORTAL to check their admission status and also indicate the acceptance or the rejection of their admission offer”.

Some institutions do not usually publish the list of candidates admitted on their portal, so candidates are advised to be constantly checking their admission status on the JAMB CAPS PORTAL.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you accept the admission offer, you will no longer be available for other school’s admission consideration. Coming to rejection, if you reject the admission offer, you will become available for other school’s who still have free admission slots.

How to Accept or Reject Admission Offer on JAMB CAPS PORTAL

Generally, you can access the internet with two things which are smart phones and computers. So you can accept or reject your admission on JAMB CAPS through your smart phone or your computer both ways can work.

Don’t think you can only access the jamb Caps portal only with your smart phone or with your computer. Know that you can use any of these to access the jamb  Caps portal and accept or reject your admission offer.

Via Computer (PC)

  • Visit the JAMB E-facility portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.
  • Put in your Email Address and Password in the required columns and then click login.
  • Locate and click on ‘Check Admission Status‘.
  • Select you examination year and put in your JAMB registration number in the required column and then click on ‘Access my CAPS‘ button.

Check Admission Status

  • Then select Admission Status on the left panel.
  • Locate and click on the ‘Search button‘ in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile.
  • Now you can accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

Note: When you are been offered admission, the Accept Admission and Reject Admission buttons will be active, it will be highlighted in Red. See the screenshot below.

Via Smart Phone (Mobile Device)

  1. Visit the JAMB E-facility portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.
  2. Put in your Email Address and Password in the required columns and then login.
  3. Locate and click on ‘Check Admission Status‘.
  4. Select you examination year and put in your JAMB registration number in the required column and then click on ‘Access my CAPS‘ button.
  5. You will be welcomed with a white screen.
  6. Then select the three doted line at the top right-corner of your browser ( i.e. ) and then tick ‘Desktop site‘.
  7. Now select ‘Admission Status‘ on the left panel.
  8. Then locate and click on the ‘Search‘ button in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile.
  9. Now you can accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.
